The hotel provides you with a feeling of safety in a somewhat challenging environment for the newcomers. As a solo female traveller I particularly appreciated it that the guys from the reception would accompany me to the taxi upon arrival and departure. They also helped me with transportation arrangements so I could visit some of the major sights like Sarnath and the Benares University. The hotel's restaurant with a view on the Ganga river is a good place to stay in the evenings if you hesitate to go out to the city in the darkness alone. Centrally located. The building is historic and some rooms (I got an upgrade upon extending my stay), with high ceilings and the panorama views, are real masterpieces. I read many comments about challenging streets that lead to the hotel. Can't agree more, but if fact all streets in the ghats are like this and you can't blame the hotel for it. So if you want to visit proper Benares, you just have to take it as a part of the experience.

Great location, staff very helpful and ready to respond to any needs or questions quickly, helped me carry luggage. The view from the cafe is amazing. The bed was huge and comfy. Felt very protected when I realised people were on guard around the building 24/7 and making sure the monkeys don’t stay around on my roof. It was a pleasant touch that they had recently refreshed the painted art on the walls near the buildings and it brought me a feeling of safety and care for surroundings. On arrival the staff showed me their two buildings and allowed me to choose which room I want to stay in. Very kind to provide complimentary water and toiletries, which was not just shower gel etc but even a comb and a dental and a shaving kit. Breakfast was lovely and arrived quickly. Great experience, would absolutely come again! Also met another solo female traveller guest who returned here many times so it seems like a good place to be and worth climbing the steps for.

The location is the best part as its very close to Dasvamedh Ghat and falls right in centre of 84ghats of Varanasi. mostly from all river view rooms you can see all ghats. The staff here is very decent, helpful and disciplned. The property is right at the Ghat so one can not reach by car/taxi but the staff will pick you from the nearest point and the walk itself gives you the complete feel of Varanasi, My grany was with us on this trip the hotel arranged 2 wheeler pick up and drop for her with a good expirienced rider. really thank full to hotel for this. They also have wheelchair assistance. Food served is freshly made on order and tasted very good. for us it was very similar to our home made food, really liked it. The rooms and washrooms are clean, but do not expect a luxurious stay. Can say this hotel is one of the best if you wanna stay on Ghats of Varanasi at a reasonable prize and good expirience.

Booked after going thru available reviews here and on Google. The reviews were pretty much accurate about both the highlights and the low points.. Location and views are just mesmerizing for the river facing rooms and totally worth the price. The restaurant is also nice, the menu options may be limited but are served well. The rooms are neat and clean otherwise, but may disappoint if u have high expectations. Took spare bedsheet and blanket with us after reading other reviews but did not find the need to use them after all. Do call the hotel before check in for making your life easy while finding its location for first timers. They are glad to help you anyways.. In short, the hotel stays true to its words, "Live like a Benarsi"

The property is on a perfect location! 1. 7 star service from the staff members. 2. There are two staffs that would like to call out and appreciate Guddu Mishra Bhaiyya and Abhijit (front office receptionist). They are such lovely and divine people. Especially Mr Guddu Mishra went leaps to help us, we were with our 5 year old daughter and he ensured we are served every time asked and helped us walk the streets and help with auto and taxi when needed. His suggestion of restaurants was nothing short of amazing. If you like to see Varanasi - don’t even think but book this place and meet these gentlemen above. They are here to do seva and not behind money unlike many other places.
